Fake text messages

Unfortunately, we are still experiencing attempts at fraud involving fake text messages. Read more below.

Fake Text Messages Are Still a Major Problem

Unfortunately, like other parking operators and public authorities, we continue to experience attempts at fraud involving both fake text messages and phone calls claiming to be from Q-Park.

These messages appear in an increasing number of variations, ranging from very short texts to longer and more detailed messages containing instructions on what action to take and what may happen if payment is not made. Some of the latest versions even offer a discount for prompt payment. Examples of these messages can be found at the bottom of this page.

Received a Suspicious Text Message? Forward It to Us – Do Not Click the Link

We encourage anyone who receives a text message containing a payment link not to click on it. Please also be extra vigilant, as fraudulent text messages may in some cases appear within the same message thread as previous genuine messages from Q-Park, such as a confirmation for a digital parking permit.

If you have received a text message containing a payment link, we ask that you forward it to 25 96 88 99 so that we can investigate it further. Your report helps us identify new fraudulent websites and have them reported and taken down. Once the message has been forwarded, we recommend deleting it.

Q-Park NEVER Sends Text Messages Containing Payment Links

Q-Park ONLY sends text messages to customers confirming that they have registered their parking and have been issued with a temporary parking permit. We NEVER request payment details and do not send links for payment.

All Messages, Phone Calls and Payment Links Are Fraudulent

A common feature of these fraudulent messages is that the recipient is encouraged to click on a link to obtain further information or make a payment. These links lead to fake payment websites designed to obtain the recipient’s card details. Unfortunately, these websites may resemble Q-Park’s official website, but the web address will typically differ from the genuine one.

It Is Becoming Increasingly Difficult to Tell the Difference

The individuals behind these fraudulent messages are constantly improving their ability to imitate Q-Park’s website and those of other organisations. As a result, clicking on a link in a fraudulent text message may lead you to a website that, at first glance, appears genuine. Fraudsters have become highly skilled at replicating both design and language, and Q-Park works continuously to have fraudulent websites reported and taken down. Q-Park also cooperates with the police on other relevant measures to address these fraud attempts.

Pay Close Attention to the Website Address

One of the key signs that a website may be fraudulent is its web address. Q-Park’s website and all associated pages will always begin with www.q-park.dk. Fraudulent websites, on the other hand, may use addresses that resemble the Q-Park name but differ from the legitimate address, such as q-parkdk.dd or q-parki-dk.org.

Never Enter Your Payment Details

Even if a payment is not successfully processed through a fraudulent website, it is important never to enter your card details on such sites. The purpose of these fraudulent websites is to obtain and misuse your payment card information. If you have entered your details, it is essential that you contact your bank immediately to have your card blocked and prevent any unauthorised use.
