Snow is falling!

Snow is falling across large parts of the country, so it might be a good time for a quick update on the rules for parking in snowy conditions. While it certainly adds charm to the landscape, snow can pose a few challenges for traffic.
The rules for parking are the same all year round – regardless of the weather. If there is a requirement for a parking permit, you must use one in in all types of weather. If there is a time limit of, for example, 2 hours - then it must be observed in both summer and winter.

But what if my car is covered in snow?
If the car is covered in snow, the control fee agent will very carefully brush the snow away from the windshield to be able to see if the parking disc is set correctly or if there is a valid permit. If the car is covered, the control fee agent will carefully lift the cover.

There are exceptions

If snow falls in such large quantities that, for example, you have parked your car and it later becomes trapped in a snowdrift, you may not be able to move the car in time. If the authorities advise against all travel, you naturally cannot be expected to move the car either. And in such situations, parking attendants will of course not be out on patrol. However, once it is again possible and permitted to drive, inspections will resume, and we will then expect you to move your car.

“Our parking attendants show consideration when there is heavy snowfall, but if you find yourself in a situation where you are unable to comply with the rules and move your car in time – for example, if you have a breakdown, are snowed in, or stuck – it is important that you take the necessary precautions and try to end your parking session as quickly as possible. If you receive a control fee which you believe has been issued unfairly due to the circumstances, you can submit an appeal via our website. Our case handlers will then make an individual assessment,” says Alex Pedersen, managing director of Q-Park.
